Dr. Terri L. Russ

Dr. Terri L. RussDr. Terri L. Russ (Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Purdue University, J.D. from DePaul University, B.A. in English Literature from Purdue University North Central) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies, Dance, and Theatre at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. A feminist rhetorical scholar, she is the author of Bitchin’ Bodies: Young Women Talk about Body Dissatisfaction (forthcoming September, 2008) from StepSister Press. Additionally she has authored chapters in: Gendered Approaches to Applied Communication (Sage, 2004) and Electronic Tribes: The Virtual World of Geeks, Gamers, Shamans, and Scammers (University of Texas, 2008). A throwback to old school writing, she composes all of her scholarship on yellow legal pads with black pens. She is intrigued by and hopeful of the possibilities the Internet presents to provide high-level academic work to the masses.
